Pride is here!
It's finally upon us... Austin's biggest LGBT Pride celebration in history! There are many things going on, and ways you can help so check out the items below for how you can participate.
Park your car somewhere downtown and walk to the spot you picked out along the parade route. For the best viewing choices, go early! Go to parade staging and vote for "Crowd Favorite" float. Watch the performers at the Pride Texas Festival. Check out the shops along the 2nd Street District. Stay cool in one of the establishments in the Warehouse District. Support those businesses who have made it possible for the AGLCC to shut down the streets to make it safe for both the parade participants and spectators.
The AGLCC Pride Parade gives special thanks to Alliance Transportation; the businesses in the 2nd Street and Warehouse Districts; the City of Austin specifically the Right-of-Way, Parks and Recreation Departments, and the Austin Police Department; the Palmer Event Center and the Long Center for their patience in helping the AGLCC with the Pride Parade. Thanks also worth mentioning are Classic Chassis Car Club and Five Star Auto for providing vehicles for our special guests.

Volunteer Info
The Gardner Group at Keller Williams Realty and Oil Can Harry's are the exclusive sponsors of the Austin Pride Parade VIP Party on June 14, 2008 at 7:00pm. This event will take place on the Plaza of Austin City Hall. We are currently seeking volunteers for the event.
Positions to fill on June 14 include:
. Setup Crew (noon - 6pm)
. Teardown Crew (11pm - midnight)
. Security (5:00pm - midnight)
. Equipment / Furniture Handlers / Movers (10am - 5pm)
. General Assistance Before, During and After Event
In exchange for services rendered, volunteers will be awarded a VIP pass. VIP passes include the following benefits:
. Entry to PRIDE Festival
. Entry to Equality Texas VIP Tent
. Entry to PRIDE Parade VIP Party at City Hall - food and cocktails included, VIP ParadeViewing Area
. VIP access to OCH the night of the Parade - this night will be limited to festival / parade VIPs . VIP Staff / Security T-Shirt
We will have a volunteer meeting on Thursday, June 12 at 6:30 PM at the WAMU Training Center, 3317 Northland Drive (FM 2222 and Mopac, right beside Starbucks). Parking for Pride
With Equality Texas' Pride Texas and the AGLCC Pride Parade on the same day, in the same location, you may not be able to rely on the parking you normally use downtown. Please check out the Pride Texas website for information on where and when to park on Saturday.
LGBT Political Party
 The AGLCC and Equality Texas will host the 1st Annual LGBT Political Party on Tuesday June 17 at City Hall.This event will give tribute to our OUT elected LGBT officials in Austin. Join us at 6:30pm for this free event. Additional details will be posted on our website Aglcc.org as details are released.
