AGLCC to Host Rainbow Ribbon Cutting at Austin's Garbo Salon

AUSTIN, Texas (February 22, 2014) — The Austin Gay and Lesbian Chamber of Commerce (AGLCC) will host a Rainbow Ribbon Cutting event Feb. 25 as part of the chamber’s brand-new Ambassadors Program.

The Rainbow Ribbon Cutting will be from 11 a.m.-noon at AGLCC member Garbo Salon, 7739 Northcross Drive, Suite K-L, in Austin.

“Our Rainbow Ribbon Cuttings are an excellent way to introduce both new and existing businesses to the LGBT community as a ‘coming out’ party, of sorts, letting the LGBT community know that these businesses are open to and for LGBT customers,” said Amy Cook, AGLCC membership chair.

New business members of AGLCC are eligible to host a Rainbow Ribbon Cutting ceremony. These events are attended by chamber board members, chamber Ambassadors and other chamber members, and are promoted on the chamber website, at chamber events and through the chamber's quarterly magazine, The Agenda.

The new Ambassador Program is one of AGLCC’s membership efforts.

The Austin Gay and Lesbian Chamber of Commerce (AGLCC) is Central Texas’ home for lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) supportive businesses and organizations. The chamber is the best resource to learn about LGBT-friendly businesses, services, community resources and events in the Austin area.
